Kentucky Derby '08 [image heavy!]

Well, the Kentucky Derby was okay. I cried, but it was pretty good. There was a field of 20. Big Brown broke from the 20th slot.

These are the results (with pictures!) :

1st: Big Brown

2nd: Eight Belles-She was the only filly, but she broke both of her ankles after and had to be euthanized. I cried.

3rd: Denis of Cork

4th: Tale of Ekati

5th: Recapturetheglory

6th: Colonel John

7th: Anak Nakal

8th: Pyro

9th: Cowboy Cal-It was the only picture I could find of him!

10th: Z Fortune

11th: Smooth Air- WOMAN RIDER! (yessss)

12th: Visionaire

13th: Court Vision

14th: Z Humor

15th: Cool Coal Man

16th: Bob Black Jack

17th: Gayego

18th: Big Truck

19th: Adriano

20th: Monba

Enjoy. I was bored! I had fun though! Haha!

They're all so pretty. I like Big Brown. It was so sad that Eight Belles had to be euthanized... it was horrible what happened to her. I didn't get to see the Derby for like, the first time in years...

What happened to her actually? I understand she finished the race anyway. Just SO sad...

Fab pictures, thankyou.

Kitten_Val, it was just another racing breakdown - babies being worked to hard, too young and compounded by the fact that racehorses are not bred for longerm soundess. Their legs just can't stand up to it - so sad. She had so much heart and talent and it was all wasted.
