Which lessons to take? English vs Western

So I'm having a tough time trying to decide. I've taken western lessons for a few years back when I was in middle school/high school. Got out of it for a while and I'm now in college.

My school offers a colt starting class that I would like to take eventually. I did the try outs for it recently, but didn't make it. I'm a little bummed about it but I kinda saw it coming as I havn't been riding in quite some time and I was so nervous about it that it transferred to the horse and it just didn't go well LOL There is always next year to try again.

I have been "volunteering" for another class our school offers; Riding Instructor Course. Needed students for the people taking the class to tech for a few lessons. They were looking for beginners mostly but they were running low on people to help out. So I offered to take some english lessons since I have never really done them. Who could pass up some free lessons? I've taken about 6 or so english lessons so far and I'm actually really enjoying it. I find two-point pretty fun.

So my question is which one should I take? I would like to take them over the summer. I feel I should do western in order to prepare myself for next years colt class tryouts (I feel I'm about an intermediate western rider) but I also feel like I want to take some more in depth english lessons and maybe start learning to jump or something. I'm not sure what to do, so I'd like some input from others. Thanks!

It's entirely up to you. Both disciplines have something different to offer. Pick the one you think from which you'll get the most benefit.

That is one of those questions with no wrong answer. However, if it was me, I'd take lessons in whichever I knew the least about in hopes of learning the most in a short time.
