Love to go back to arena work from time to time

So today I finally got to ride my lovely mare in the ring again, we have been so busy with trail riding lately (have a trail riding business) that it just feels so good to be back in the arena on some days... just love that I have the choice. And guess what? Summer seems to be here - even on the west coast of Canada

Curious, do you trail ride in your dressage saddle?

Nope, have western tack for the other horses. I usually do not ride this horse on the trails, just from time to time... that's what I have my QHs for :0)

I had the same question the first time I read the OPs post.

Haha yeah I do trails in my dressage saddle. It's actually surprisingly comfy :P

haha..my daughter does too..she refuses to ride in a western saddle..says she would barrel race in her dressage saddle!

OP..glad to read your post..thought I was being weird since after 3 years of riding in the open country I am building a riding arena because I miss it! And I agree with sky you 2 look great together!

Thanks guys. Yeah, I grew up riding the english way in the arena in Germany and since I came to Canada I focused on trail riding and ground and saddle training western horses but I guess one needs to go back to the roots at least from time to time :0) It is such a different riding and I love both but having the variety is what makes it for me. Oh and I would go in my dressage saddle on trail rides as well, it is pretty comfi :0)

I guess I've never seen this where I am from. I'm not saying it wouldn't work or is wrong by any means; just not seen around here.
