I learnt how to groom and tack up my horse. I also got to trott while riding which was so amazing I can't put it into words.
The horse I was put on was a sweet old horse named Sonnett. A chestnut.(my fave horse colour) He was a great little man to let me groom and tack him up(accidently got his mane caught in the saddle at one stage) with no trouble at all. What a little gentleman he was. I am now doing horse riding once every week on saturdays. My lesson starts at 2:00pm. I will probaly be on a different horse next week, but I am so excited, I am literally counting down the days.
I only got about 10-20 minute ride for the day as we spent the rest on learning how to groom and tack up the horse.(with an instructor to help of course) I thought I was going to be sore after the trott as when you go up down up down in the saddle, it hurts a bit. But I was fine. When I had to get off, I wanted to stay on ^^
After the short ride we got to give them another groom. Sonnett wouldn't stop pushing his head into my arms so that I was hugging his head. It was so cute. I loved him so much!
My confidecnde needs to grow a bit more because not long ago I went on a horse trek and a horse kept bolting on me. When we were walking around the ring I was waiting for Sonnett to bolt with me. I was so used to being bolted with on the other horse. I was a little tense at first on sonnett but when the instructor came over and I told him about it I felt a lot better and strangely more confident
Update- Went to a shop called horseland. Brought a helmet, boots and some jodphurs. We were told we needed a helmet and boots. Jodphurs were ideal but the riding club said it wasn't a big issue. Can't wait until next lesson, who shall I be riding?
Yeah, I love how Sonnett trusted me so much. It really made my week.
