Hi my name is Julia, im new here. Im 13 years old, and I LOVE horses. What girl doesn't? My dads in the navy, he's a recruiter, and we recently moved to NE. I started taking lessons this winter. I've taken them before. I year when I was 6-7, a couple horse camps, a couple trail rides, but nothing like this. I now know how to catch, lead, groom/feet, tack up, walk/trot/canter/hand gallop. I know you are probably thinking "so what? I did all that when I was 6!" But idk. I guess it's a pretty big deal for me.
So anyway, my intructor (Katy, 18) let me come with her to a show. We washed Riley (a white paint with super light grey splotches you can only see when he is wet) till he glowed, (of course he rolled again, and I rinsed him off) then put on his blanket and rainbow sleazy after banding his hair. He was GLOWING for the show. I got 2nd place in walk/trot novice (I wouldve gotten first but he decided it was time to do a lope) and 3rd in walk/trot open. I didn't place in egg&spoon though haha.
