My introduction and a story for today

Hey everybody, i'm glad to have found a forum full of horse lovers, I think I will be putting down facebook for this i'm already addicted My name is heather I have 3 horses Thunder a 3yr old TN walking horse stallion, velvet 17 yr old QH gelding, Moonshine a 11 yr old racking mare. Thunder is my new horse, Velvet is pretty much retired, and Moonshine has a injury that will keep her from being ridden for the rest of her life. So most of my post will be about Thunder.

On all my previous post so far I have been bragging about what a great wodnerful horse he is(and he is). But today my mom came up to watch me ride, and I got on and low and behold out of the blue he bucks me off, I don't know what in the world happened. I think maybe he was stung by a bee or something, he has NEVER bucked. I'm bruised but I got back on, and everything was fine. I hope this is just a fluke. But anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you all about my day and getting thrown off my "perfect" horse. LOL

For what my opinion's worth, 17 is way too young to retire. My Ellie is 17, and if her leg injury heals correctly, I'm expecting to be riding her for years.

Haha don't you just love it when you want to show someone how good your horse is and they play up. Like one time my friend was showing me how easy her horse was to catch he just walks up. Well he didn't that day he was having a good time running laps around us.

Anyway welcome :)

Yeah, welcome to the forum.

Horses are like kids they love to make a liar out of you.

Hopefully it was just a bit of playfulness - he is only 3 afterall. Glad you weren't too hurt.

Yeah I would still be riding my 17 year old, but he has a little bit of arthritis and I just had a baby so all my time is devoted to my 3yr old. Since he needs the most work. So i've just had him out in the pasture this year.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Well, another year or so and you can start the kid on your 17 year old
