Need some ideas about chance! Thxs Guys!!!

Okay you all know whats going on with chance and u can read my other post. Well since im head out to the barn tomorrow and staying there the weekend so Ill have a ton of time with chance! I was wondering what kinda of things I could do in the round pen and maybe some small things to do in saddle.

Things im planning on doing
-Free lunge
-start working with some parelli games
- do some walk trot transitions in round pen if up 2 it and its not icey or muddy
-try and work on picking up her feet
-ton of loving up time :)

Anything else??

[when I get back i should have videos and pictures of almost all of this]

Have fun Try not to make it all work. I like to spend time just being with my horse whenever I get a chance for some one on one.

Sounds good to me - let us know how it goes. Keep it light and simple!!

When I first started training Magic, I had to work on the very very basics - like being caught and leading properly - for a week straight

Because she is green, take it slow, and dont make anything complicated.

Chance is green??? oh gosh I didn't know that. It's good to have a plan, but remember that if you don't get to everything you wanted to, it's ok, especially if you only have a weekend. Gosh, it took me weeks to do things right with Thunder. I worked almost every day for weeks on leading, walk, whoa, and he's still learning space. I didn't even attempt the lunging til he knew most of that stuff. Just remember it's all about baby steps, and what seems like it should be easy, isnt' for a new horse. GOOD LUCK!

well im gonna be working on leading out in the feild so if i go to catch he i wont be the one getting led at a canter or a gallop back to the herd. Chance isnt like really really green just kinda mildly green adn need more of a refrresher on a lot of things :P but ya she does know how to lunge already just needs to learn free lungeing which should be simple. I wont over work her :) I love to just spend time with my horses by grooming on in the round pen and play parelli games or just stand in the middle and see how many times they come over :) or i walk around with them and jog with the around and it always turns into a game but im deff gonna be careful around chance till we really get to know each other. the only bad thing is is that i only go up there on the weekends due to school im gonna start going there wednesdays hopefully so its not a complete week im away from her. I know me and her got off on the wrong foot but im really hoping to fix that and get a great bond with her. Ill e learning something 2... patients.. i thought i had a ton of it .. which i did with will and lexi ... but not with this one and i need to work on that adn not raiseing my voice which im getting better at.
