Gidget, to ship a horse internationally is looking not only a couple of grand, but try around the 15-20 grand mark ;)

Haha yes I wish it was only a couple of grand though, if it was I'd have imported a nice warmblood related to Anebel's 'Rowan' long ago! There are quite a lot of QH's around Aus though if you did want to go in the direction of QH's, and because Aus isn't so huge on the hunter/jumper scene, or even western riding, you can pick up some pretty reasonably priced QH's quite easily. I know some QH people in SA, and a couple of good breeder/trainers, but it depends how far out you want to go.

I'm looking more into the QH/Paint/Appys because when I say Hunter under saddle I mean western hunter. The rider has terrible posture, but that's the kind of horse and style I'm talking about. Transport isn't really an issue, because Dad used to be a horse truck driver and we have a lot of mates who can do it for us.

I know of a LOVELY little mare for sale over here of that type. She's a very solid QHxappy, chestnut with conjoined star/stripe/snip

Her ad:
Babe is a lovely 5yo Solid Appaloosa chestnut mare 15.1hh, western pleasure trained and being re-educated to English and going well, movement becoming forward and active with good hock action. She is a very loving horse, good to catch, shoe, trots up into float, works great out at shows and would stay tied up all day. Been to encourage Hack shows placing in every class including 1st led mare 3rd best present
1st maiden 2nd open reserve champ ridden. With her quiet nature, good mover and super looks this mare will take the right rider a long way. Would suit a competent rider as she still is a young horse with a lot of potential, sad sale to the best of homes only. Please no beginners. Lease option, Only to APPROVED home. Vet check welcome.

She's umming and ahhing about selling, but might be worth asking

Hmm, that really fits the description. I'm kinda taking my time picking another horse, just because I don't want the whole Ricky ordeal again. Whats the asking price?

She hasn't given a specific asking price, would have to ask yourself, or if you're genuinely interested I can ask her when I see her. I don't think she'd be hugely out of your budget though. She's only selling due to time restrictions

We're really on a tight budget which is :( so I guess nothing over 6,000 unless its really amazing. So I don't want to get all interested only to find out its too much. I've had that happen to our family when we were selling a few of ours, and I know how frustrating it is. Does that make sense?
