Parade tips please

Hey guys! *waves*
Im thinking about riding in the New Years parade this year with my horse if I can find someone to ride with me, we have this program here and its called the Antlers its a charity group, like a jr. Elks program and we wanted to do a float for the New Years parade and next years x-mas parade, anyway, this would be my horses first parade, which is why I want someone to ride with me so he can be with another horse who has done it, reassurance I guess, anywho, does anyone here have tips to relax them while riding or prep them before the parade? Or even grooming tips im up for anything specifically how to attach ribbons in the manes without the attachment being noticable I have an idea of how to do it but it probably wouldnt stay in lol
For a connection to the Antlers I was thinking about putting little antlers on his head if he'll accept them im not sure, he likes hats though so I figure if I try it first he'll be fine, and I have bells he can wear that he likes the sound of,
Anything would be appreciated!
Thanks guys!
Have a good night!

As far as getting your horse used to things I would try riding while someone honks a car horn, have someone wave flags, ballons, maybe have someone move around him quickly. I guess when I think of parades there are usually excited kids that are running into the streets to collect candy. Sometimes there are 4-wheelers or motorcycles therem, police car or fire engines. Just try to get him used to some noises.

For ribbons you could band his mane and then loop the ribbon through the band... or use a lot of colored bands. You can also get horse "paint" in different colors to make a decoration on his butt or what not. Have fun and good luck!!!

If two people are ridding then maybe you can ride in the middle (like a line of three) if he starts getting jumpy with kids. He may surprise you though.

Good Luck and Have fun
We want pics of the parade!!!
