So she went in the show (I wasn't there but my mom was) and it turns out that there were a few problems. She did fine in the little poles and cross poles placing fifth but in the flat class there was trouble. Apparently the class was very large so wen they were asked to canter and had some issues the "trainer" told them to trot and for half the class to go into the middle. Well, the pony in front of my cousin slowed down right away and my cousin got too close causig the pony in front to kick at my cousin's nearly hitting her square in the chest ( but not quite kicking her). My cousin's pony then took off, my mom was waiting for the "trainer" to help my cousin out since it was quite obvious that m cousin was beginning to panic. The "trainer" didn't say a word. So, not wanting her niece or anyone else hurt my mom began telling her to sit up and try to calm the pony down. The pony finally stops and they finish the class. At the end when they were lined up to leave my cousins pony began to act up again. With it only being a fun show my mom walked into the arena and led my cousin out. After she asked her if she knew what to do when a horse takes off and unsuprisingly she didn't. Later the "trainer" came out to talk to my mom and she said that he was going to school my cousin but didn't. Want to yell over my mom. My mom had waited what she thought was a reasonable amount of time before helping my cousin. And then the " trainer" said that my mom shouldn't have put anything in the pony's mane so my mom told her that it was only soap and then my mom was told to just leave It dirty next time. It's a grey mare who is almost white!
So we decided since it doesn't look like they are going to move we are taking my cousin to my barn tomorrow to teach her what to do in case of an emergency we are also going to teach her basic ground manners. We are using my horse who has done it a million times and is bombproof so we are going to teach her in one of the safest environments as possible.
Another thing was that since I may be getting a new horse in the next year or so (pushing Jesse as far as he can go) my mom was thinking that my cousin could possibly do hunters on him because she knows he will take care of her since I was m cousins age when I did hunters on him.
Ps sorry for any grammar/odd spellings I'm on m iPod.

It sounds like you and your mother are doing a good job taking care of your cousin. Maybe if she gets really comfortable riding at your barn, her parents can be convinced to let her move there.

Thank you, we are trying. I would like my cousin cone to our barn but it is a little far. It would take them 45 min to get there on a good day

So yesterday went well. Jesse was such a good boy!. We taught her how to lead a horse properly and safely. We also taught her how to double up. Then we worked on the walk/trot test and if it is alrignht with her dad and she wants to we will enter her in a show just so she can have a better and safer experience than the other weekend.
