Hahahaah. Too bad you don't live over in Oregon or I'd let you :) She is awesome. She goes through rivers too! I might try a trail ride in the mornings or afternoon(depending on when I take my lesson) that way she can relax and not be rude. We are training her for dressage/jumping. Not sure which direction I will go with that. I just wanted something more than a trail horse...that may sound horrible but I want her to be able to do arena work without being physically exhausting as we will fight with each other. I have been back driving and pumping with my hips so much that it wears me out and I get a full on workout!

If I had to choose between arenas and trails, I would choose trails any day. Maybe Gidget is the same way. And look at it this way, trails are the real world, so if she's good at that, that's what counts.

How about working on your arena "stuff" out on the trails (or pasture)?

I don't have access to an arena, so all my riding I do out on the trails, including teaching them to sidepass, back, canter, etc.

Just an idea.

Thats a good idea as well. We have a 6 acre pasture and a round pen that I can work her in. Right now gas is so expensive I can't work her just on the trails :P That would be awesome though!

I need to teach her not to weave and to stay on the rail but keep driving her and make her work. So right not that's what I'm going to do. Now that my trainer has helped me understand some things maybe it won't be as frusterating...hopefully.
