A ride on the world famous Zenyatta and others

So the virtual reining thread reminded me of some of the other helmet cam rides. Thought they would be fun to share here. For those of you who have never had a chance to ride a racehorse, try out this helmet cam ride on the world famous Throroughbred mare Zenyatta.

Here is harness racing

That was crazy! Especially loved the Zenyatta one and the harness racing. I never realized how freaking fast those horses can pace O_o their legs are flying! Zenyatta's pony horse didn't look too pleased with her though...LOL

I was thinking the same thing. They go through a lot with those prima donna race horses. Ha ha Zenyatta is just such a lovely lady, it is hard not to want to ride her. I think it nice for people to get a feel for what it is like to do some of those other sports. If we are raised on a certain sport, it seems we are often brainwashed into thinking, that is all there is. I don't know if it is old age or what but I love to get a feel for other disciplines.

Thanks for posting these different perspectives. Really enjoyable. Now I know what it would be like to ride along with Zenyatta. I have taken my own helmet cam vids from my trail rides. The speed is amazing!

That's awesome! I have rode a racehorse a couple times, but the harness racing is defiantly cool. I would have never done it anyways!

Never sell your saddle, cause' lifes a long ride

The helmet cam still doesn't do it justice lol. I LOVE harness racing. I work at the track. The trainer I work for has me jog and train his horses with him. It is such a rush. I was working towards my qualifier license but I don't know how I would handle an actual race with horses all around me lol. Its one thing with 3 or 4 horses when you are training but 8 - 10 in an actual race I suspect would have me freaking right out lol.

I love the whole helmet cam thing. I really want to try it next year when I am out cross country...

I've seen the Zenyatta and CD videos, pretty neat
Harness racing I always wanted to try, had rented a barn at a standie place and have a real soft spot for them, but never got a chance to try it in 8 years....grrrrr
