    riding tips

I'm going on a riding holiday for a week at the Scottish equestrian hotel. With a chance to win rosettes, I want to do my best. I've never done competitions before because I don't have my own horse and I'm looking for some tips. Also, I have been riding the same three horses for years and when I first ride a new horse I'm rubbish because I'm not used to them. At the start of the holiday they assess your riding and I don't want to be put in a group where I'm not doing as much as I can do so does anyone have some tips for getting used to a new horse? And when I ride I tend to point my toes out the way, like a ballerina. How an I stop this?Sorry for all the questions.

It can be difficult when first being introduced to a new horse. Ask a lot of questions about your new horse. Are they lazy, spooky, quick? Try to find out how they like to be ridden. Spend a while just getting to know your new horse - and give him lots of treats! He will love you! I would not worry too much though. I'm sure they will pair you with a great horse. And btw im so jealous it sounds like you're going to have a ton of fun! :)
