Anything with a well fitting UP or McClellan type of tree will always be my first choice. Displaces the most weight and has the least negative impact on my horse's back. Of course any well fitted tree is better than none, but for the riding I like doing I need as much displacement as possible (want to avoid being hold up while a sore back heals).
They're always going to be bigger and stronger so you better always be smarter. (One of my grandfather's many pearls of wisdom)
