The lesson horse I ride has bad ground manners. I get a little nervous when handling him on the ground but I'm fine when I'm riding. What's a good way to keep relaxed and confident?

Just remember that you wouldnt be allow to ride him if you were unable to safely tack him up and work around him. :) If you need to carry a crop with you to re-enforce your reprimands when he is being naughty, just a tap here and there and saying no sternly when after you first tell him no and he doesn't listen. He is just acting up because he thinks he can, and you just have to let him know that he cant.
