Where did you go and which stable did you go with? We're going to Kona in 3 weeks, and we'd like to do a ride, but reading the reviews of the stables on Tripadvisor has it sounding like they're all jerks with poorly-kept half-dead horses. I know they arent', it's just impossible to filter through the BS to figure out who's good and who isn't.

Go to Paniolo Adventures for sure. I was SO impressed with the horses and the guides. They use bitless bridles on the horses which I loved because most horses used for these kind of trail rides have had their mouths destroyed by the people riding them. Another reason I liked them was because we had more freedom and it wasnt just nose to tail. So yes I reconmend this place for sure!

Where did you ride? Is that IN Kona? Very beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Yeah we were trying to watch the golf tournament and it was cancelled because of the rain and wind! It was just an hour and a half out of Kona, way up into the mountains and it is GORGEOUS up there!

Oh haha cool! And yes you're older than me ;) The draft was totally cute, but the chubby fuzzy one that has the hat on was honestly one of the cutest horses i've ever seen! Omg she would canter him and he would do these kind of hopping sliding stops, it was so funny!

Also I forgot to mention above that they lend out coats, helmets, boots, chaps, sunscreen etc etc and I think they even had some jeans on hand. Also every saddle had a saddle bag for your camera or phone. They're an hour and a half out side of Kona.

Gorgeous ride! Being in the trail riding business, I definitely can appreciate the bitless bridles, I wish there was more of that around. That's also awesome that they lend out so many things! I cannot tell you how many people here get disappointed that we don't lend out many things. I also love your dads draft, we have one named sunshine who looks a lot like him :) and I have to day its pretty awesome that you got to go whatever gait you wanted to, we very rarely do that here due to how many beginners we get! If I am ever out that way to ride I'll definitely look into that place. I'm glad you had a blast and I hope you start feeling better soon!
