    Think back to the beginning...

I know that when I was younger I didn't take them from the best trainer...found that out later, but oh well. My parents found a cheap barn that they could afford to get me 2-3 lessons a week. I love them for it I really do.

Ok end ramble and to my point...What do you wish you had learned when you first started out? For example, I wish I had gotten a better foundation with my seat and learned more about tack and trail riding. OR what did you love about the trainer who helped you learn the basics??

I wish I had been taught from the beginning to always think about the horse's comfort. Regarding tack, my position, my handling of the reins and my awareness of my horse and whether he is up to what I am asking of him.
I guess that means, wish I had been taught to be a better listener to what my horse is saying to me.

Going back, I wish I would've learned how position effects everything else and taught 2-point correctly! After all these year, now I'm finally learning all that thanks to a wonderful trainer that works with horse/rider combination instead of just the rider. For example, for so long I though that part of my position problems were me, no, it's actually the saddle type that I was using. Things are actually coming into place for me!

I wish I had my lessons earlier in life, I sarted when I was 13.
I did really enjoy my instructor and she taught me really well, great place to go
