Just came back from a ride with Bonnie and she was much better today. She did stop dead once but I gave her a smack on the butt with the loose end of the mecate and she moved forward. No more problem after that.
That's great to hear that she's back to normal, seems to me like having a nice holiday made her want to test you a little and that on the second rde she realized this wasn't a particularly good idea.
My very laid back reliable go where you point her Irish Draft is like the horse from hell if she has a couple of months off but after day 1 back in work she is her normal self again. My very fizzy excitable TBxwelsh is always the same regardless of how long I leave her.
I wouldn't say Bonnie is a steady Eddie (because she's a mare) but she's always been a really steady Edwina. This behavior is definitely new and I hope it's just that she's not been ridden in awhile.
