I haven't been around much recently and I figured I'd let you all know how Chinga is going, as some of you may know for a fair while I had a combination of both control and behavior problems from my horse. So I spent a fairly large amount of time getting back to the basics, doing some more groundwork with him. When I rode I continued jumping but only to around 80cm in lessons with my coach. Other then that I did lots of dressage, I forgot about "roundness". Worked on his gaits, getting them nice and smooth. Lots of transitons too. I'm very proud of how far his come - his really doing well. I feel I now ride him correctly and "drive" him forward as well. When I ride him know I feel like I as a rider am teaching him ( good things ) and that each ride I find even more potential inside of him. Currently I am on holidays and once all this shocking weather drys up I will be able to continue in his dressage training. I've started to enjoy dressage so much more - now that it isn't a continous battle and that Chinga is willing to work with me. We are both teaching eachother so much and helping eachother learn. I personally am excited for what the 2011 Show Season holds for us, now that I have discovered how much potential Chinga truly does have.
Anyway, I'm off to the farm ( Armidale ) in January once again. Like I did this year and spending two weeks there, I will be sure to be using all the room, ect to our adventage and to help me for-fill more training goals with Chinga.
