    If we only learnt from one source then we'd end up being very biased and restricted in what we do
    Even the top riders are constantly looking at new things they can use to extend their knowledge bank especially when every horse comes with its own set of challenges.

    Surely that's why the intelligent discerning rider questions everything they read or hear?
    I wouldn't expect someone that's just starting out and getting most of their knowledge second or third hand to know as much as people who've been around a lot longer and gained real life experience from working with many different horses and many different instructors and situations
    That's not to say that new methods and thoughts aren't worth consideration, if people didn't keep striving for something better in all walks of life then we'd all be stagnating in the Dark Ages
