When did you start riding again after baby?

I'm due next month with our first, and am curious to see when people started riding again after delivery, pending no complications. I rode for the first few months of my pregnancy (partly because I didn't know I was pregnant!), but called it quits until after our baby gets here. When did you get back in the saddle? I'm itching!

I waited 6 weeks after and started back slowly.

I have two kids, and their birth didn't have any impact on my riding at all... O wait... ; )

I had a vaginal delivery, but had a grade 4 tear.

I rode at three weeks, mostly because my wonderful sister was visiting and helped with meals, housework and laundry and was someone I would trust to hold the baby while I rode.

Riding regularly was problematic because of timing and childcare; getting fit again was difficult for all the same reasons.

I wasn't riding at the time I had my kids, but pregnancy and birth didn't change anything I did. For one, I was out walking in hip dip snow the day or week before (I don't remember anymore exacty); the other the day before I was splitting wood and the day after I was out and about doing my normal routines -- shoveling snow, downhill skiing, piling wood, bush work, whatever. The only change was there wasn't as much time anymore! Especially as they got older! LOL

For me, if I *had* been riding at the time, I would have been on the horse the next day.
