That feeling is a good one! I work full time as a paramedic and I truly wish more people shared the same feeling that you have.

Having said that depending on your current situation riding with someone else around might be very difficult. I would encourage scheduling your riding around the busy times to make sure there is always someone around the facility, if not keep a cell phone with you and hope that in the event something does happen, you will be able to call for help yourself.

I felt comfortable enough to canter in the pasture today by myself, I feel so proud. 8) I had my barn manger know where I was though just in case.

yay, good for you! My problem is the exact opposite--I'm always riding off and not telling anybody and then I get 'The Look' for it. If you still need assurance, you may want to practice a quick dismount, so that if you ever feel like now would be a great time to get off, you can do it safely. Knowing how to fall makes the possibility of it much less scary.
