There is a reason why WP is thought of differently. But I'm guessing you don't want to hear about that.

As for your question: If we all got along no one would ever challenge anything and we would never progress.

I don't think we all have to agree or even to agree to disagree. We can speak of things in a civilized fashion and remember our manners. I don't get unhappy until someone gets personal or starts talking down to me, then I'll get pretty testy but that's to ONE person, not the entire subject. If we'd just remember to talk to each other like we're face to face and meeting for the first time, we'd stay polite and civilized and we might actually be able to get something done that way.

There was a WP thread on here where a bunch of people talked about the why's and wherefores and put up videos of different breeds way of doing WP and it stayed pretty civil for quite a while. Then the spoilers came in, but you have to realize that there are some people on the internet that that's all they do, go in and be ugly on various topics and it doesn't matter what topic it is.

The internet is a great source of information and gives a bunch of folks who would never otherwise meet a chance to talk and exchange ideas about EVERYTHING. But it also has caused us to forget our manners and it exposes us to people we wouldn't invite into our homes. You just have to remember to walk away, figuratively, from those folks who would not be welcome in your home and just let them go their merry way without taking you down their particular road.
