Question Why is my mare suddenly afraid of her saddle blanket??

About a year ago I guess, my 8 year old Belgian/Quarter cross mare suddenly developed a fear of her saddle blanket. I have no idea why this happened. Does anyone else? Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? I have a few, but I'm curious what someone else would do.
P.S. I ride western, if it matters.

My arab cross mare did the same thing after a year of riding in the same blanket. Eventually I figured out it was a pain issue. It was a felt bottom blanket and it had compressed in spots and was creating pressure points. Switched to a fleece blanket and I got my wonderful, smart horse back!

One is closer to God's heart on a horse than anywhere else on earth!

You may get better responses if you give all the details in one thread.

From your other thread she is also difficult to mount, an issue you have been working with, and you also say she crow hops.

All this tells me she either has a pain issue or she has your measure and you have an attitude issue. Whichever it is I think you need to have her back and her tack checked out.
