    Won't be riding for a while... :-(

I've been having back pains for about a month now, but I finally went to the doctors today... He thinks I may have a stress fracture in one of my lower vertebrae. He said no running or anything for a quite a while, but the thing that's going to kill me, is no riding! I'm allowed to hop on and walk around a few times a week with the occasional trot, but that's it! I have an X-RAY coming up, and if they can't find the fracture there, then I have to get some MRIs and catscans. And if that doesn't show anything, then even more stuff needs to be done. I'm pretty much crushed right now, because I'm used to riding 4-7X a week.

    Booooo.

    Oh, I feel for you.

I had a compression fracture to t5 and t6 that put me seriously out of action for 8 months, and I didn't ride for almost 10 years after that (scared of ending up paralyzed).

But I've recently lost my mind, I guess, because I've started riding my horse again, and we are happy.

I hope your back starts to feel better soon. You look like you are young, so you'll bounce back quickly!!

    How did you injure yourself?

No one really knows. And yeah, I'm pretty young. Seventeen. But I haven't really had any bad falls. The doctors just think its from me jumping around and doing a lot of not-so-safe things to myself over the years. Haha. So for the next while, I'll be forced to take it easy. But hopefully, I'll be able to get back to riding ASAP!
