Worried about shareboard. Plz responed soon.

Today I am going to try out a horse that my trainer thinks will be a good shareboard. The thing is.... The horse is 5 years old. The owner just got him. And they have been breaking him in the indoor arena bc he has never been in an arena before. Since he is 5 I am worried he will be jittery and buck me or something! But the new owner seens nice. And I really want a shareboard bc the last 2 times I tried it didnt work out. The 1st time the horse was a smaller and it had a problem with its hocks. The 2nd 1 the owner was mt age and wanted to ride the horse when I could shareboard it. Like I hope that 3rd times the charm. Please give me advice bc I have to leave in like 4 hours. I need advice on how to make the owner confident in me take take care of the horse, I need to be confident, and to controll the young horse if it gets jittery. Please help me and thanks to all who do

You have to be realistic about your abilities; are you confident enough to ride a younger horse? Can you handle it if it spooks, rears or bucks? 5 years is a very testy age, and it is imperative that the horse receives proper training, because they are not finished and are very impressionable.
If you don't think you can handle all that responsability, then perhaps you should look at an older, more trained horse. I'm not saying you're a bad rider, it's just a matter of being honest about your abilities.
That, and the wrong horse can scare a person... if the horse is too much for you, you need to speak up, you don't want to get scared off of riding.

I have been riding for years know I think I am ready. I will give it a try and I will have my crop with me that's all I can say. If it is being testy I will hit it a little with my crop. I hope it dosent responed bad to the crop tho.

JDI has very valid points! I know now that we should have gotten horses that were a bit older. Hindsight is 20/20. We love our horses dearly but they are a bit fresher that we were ready for. Because of this we are having to use outside help for us and our horses. Which is not a bad thing it is just not something that we had anticipated.
