Wow it feels good!

I'm always paranoid my horse hates riding because sometimes he won't let me bridle him, but last night was amazing. He let me bridle him, OK so I snuck him a cookie as a reward. We were riding, my first time back on his back... in almost a month. (tear) It was amazing. He was so excited, his ears were up, he was alert and just happy. After we warmed up and jogged around a little, we have a hill in the pasture right next to the arena so I opened the gets and asked him to trot so he did, he wanted to canter, I could just feel it so gave a tiny little squeeze and he blasted off, he cantered up the hill and we were heading back down and I let him go again and he was tossing his head and he threw his front legs out like a little foal does and kicked up a back leg and was just being a big excited goofball! I swear I could see him smiling int he barn mirrors when we got back inside. It made me feel so missed by him! I could cry. It's times like that that remind me my horse DOES want to be with me *sappy* The cute thing is I dropped the rope and let him meander around while I latched the gate and walked over to the mounting block and he just sidled over and looked at me like "You wanted to get on?"

Edited for spelling,

Wonderful Abby! I know that's been a long time comming! Good for you!

Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged by the size of the task, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.

Awww, Abby that is sooo great! And you don't need to apologize for sappyness. It's not sappy at all. Your horse adores you!!

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord. 'Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future'" ~ Jeremiah 29:11

I never thought he liked me too much, I thought he just dealt with me but he was actually happy to see me. I missed him, and figured it was only one way but its not.

Its amazing! This means we are finally building a real partnership not just "I ride you, you work for me." kind of thing.
