Which boot size to get?

Hi

I am trying to buy a pair of tall boots online, and am torn between two calf size.

As this is my first time buying tall boots, some advice is appreciated.

If my calf width is 36cm (measured at the widest WITH jodhpurs and socks on.. hehe, yes my calves are muscular), is a standard fit - 37.5cm; or a wide fit - 41cm; more appropriate.

I am not sure if the width the website gives me, refers to the outside or inside circumference of the boot.

FOr those of you with more experience, which one will you get? 41cm seems really wide.. like the boot will be moving around a lot.

Is the boot made of leather? I would go with the 37.5cm. It will stretch to your calf. :)

Also, I suggest nothing less than a dress boot with a zip on the back!! I would rather die than have to deal with boots without zips again!

Just wondering if I am cutting it too close.. as my calf is 36 cm wide, and the boot is only 375 cm wide.. hahaha

No ma'am! I don't believe you are cutting it too close. I do think it will be a perfect fit! Leather is a good stretcher, believe me!!

Ok thanks.. I once bought a pair of boots online.. they were of very hard leather.. I couldn't zip them at all.. haha, so there was no way I could even stretch them

You want the boots to be smaller then your calf size, because they do stretch.

Am saying can't zip up cos it's too tight around the calves... not cos the zipper is stiff

Thanks for your advice. Am so glad I didn't go for wide..

My boots are just nice around the calves, but a bit loose around the ankles (they sag). But if I had opted for wide, it would have been worse!
