Breech size question!

I have a pair of English riding pants that I got in Germany. I am going to sell them, so my question is.. Are the sizes the same in English riding breeches as in the u.s.? I have no idea. They are 36/38

Often, you can find the international "conversion" of sizes on a tag.

The problem with sizing is that there are a lot of variables. The cut is very important. I recently got a couple pairs of Ariat breeches. I was surprised how thin the leg cut was. I am not plump, but they were tight!

Also, the materials make a huge difference. 2-way stretch materials will fit a lot "tighter" than 4-way stretch materials.

Even one companies idea of 28 long may differ quite a bit from another company's.

In German clothing, a 36/38 would be an American size 6/8, which in riding breeches translates to a 28 in American sizing.

^^ this is truth! I have three pairs of 32 and only one fits. One I can't close at the belly, the other I can't move my legs(full seat with NO give) and the other pair, I'm sticking to that company now! I have a 30 that fits me when one of the 32 doesn't.
