breeches vs jodhpurs?

Just wondering what the difference is? As far as I can tell I've heard the two terms used interchangably so is there a difference?

Breeches are generally liworn under boots or half chaps, jodhpurs are worn over boots/chaps. Usually by kids or people who ride gaited horses.

Thank you! Now I understand why my breeches are so short, I've been wearing tall winter boots all winter but I guess I need to get some half chaps now to go with my short boots.... a couple inches of bare leg between my boot and my breeches is doing nothing good for me!

Even the thought of that gives me the willies!

breeches and jodphers.

I have both and I like them both but if I was doing jumping I would use my breeches.
I would say 50/50 on that one.
