Cowboy hat - half a size to big

When I went to the QH Congress in Ohio this year I picked a new cowboy hat, a Bailey Lightning 7". Unfortunetly I'm between sizes and got the larger size, and I can hardly wear it because it keeps wanting to blow away. Any suggestion on how to keep it on my head? I am looking at getting a stampede sting, but are there any other solutions???

Trained
Put some paper towel or newspaper inside the sweatband.

Bobby pins work wonders if you're wearing your hair up. You can also get little foam strips with adhesive backing to stick in the brim to help take up some of that extra space.

LOL I read in a magazine once ( Horse&Rider I think) that you can take a maxi pad and stick it in there to help keep the hat on if it's a little big.

Good choice going for the bigger hat size though. I had them stretch the smaller size out to fit me, and by the end of my class I always have a terrible head ache.

Theres some spongey type type material with tape on one side usually found in western wear stores made just for that small problem. Better slightly large than too small or tight. Also if you leave your hat in a vehicle a couple days when its hot it will shrink size 1/4 " down. At least down here in hot/humid Fla.
