Question Current Trend Re: Stock Pins/Monograms/Plain Choker

Hi Everyone,

I'm getting ready to show in the next month or so after a many year hiatus. It will likely be a rated show. In the past I've only competed at the local level and in a different part of the country (NE, now in SE). Those shows were one step up from schooling - I always wore a jacket and braided - but certainly not a good point of reference for what I'll be doing now.

So, here's my question. Does anyone wear stock pins on their choker? I have a lovely gold bit with a diamond in the middle that seems like it would be pretty classic, but can't seem to find pictures of anyone wearing a pin, or even a monogrammed choker anymore. Was I clueless when I thought that was stylish 10 years ago - or have things just changed?

We are behind the times here, last year lots were wearing stockpins, this year-nobody. I see the tackstore has all theirs on sale 50% off, it's out now.

What discipline are you showing in?

For rated hunters (USEF, not breed shows) stock pins have been out for years unfortunately. Even monogrammed collars are fairly out, although not unseen. The biggest trend now are wrap collars with a bit of design on the inside. Like this:

Lately white has been more popular then colors, although you still see quite a bit of color outside of the equitation ring.
