So I think I'm actually going to end up on my college's dressage team. It's new and small, so they take everybody on the team who wants to ride - they don't cut like the hunt/jump team does. Anyway, now that I'm going to be on a team with only 30-40 girls, there's also a greater chance I'll get to show. Never done dressage before, but I'll learn.
I was thinking of getting some new tall boots because I've only ever had paddock boots, and they're old and getting worn out. I wanted to get some field boots at my local tack shop because they're nice and a good deal - $100 down from $300 originally - and I thought you'd be able to use field boots for more things. But now that I'm going to be doing dressage, will I need dress boots? For a collegiate show? And what are the differences between hunt/jump show attire and dressage?
