The only thing is...I've had half chaps before and didn't have this problem. Also, they are extremely painful when I bend my leg--even if I'm on the ground. :3 That's why it's confusing me :3

I've had a pair of Gran Prix suede chaps that I've had for 5 years.....& they are still great!! Of course I don't ride every day but actually have used them a lot. Love them.....very comfortable & the fit is great.....(not cheap however but worth it)

I actually agree with the tall boots statement, especially if you're wanting to continue showing.

I have two pairs of chaps, and a pair of tall boots. I use the tall boots for both lessons, clinics, and shows, just as a matter of respect. The half chaps I keep for hacks.

This makes it sound like they are too tall. I had that issue with a pair of stiff smooth leather half chaps that I tried. Unfortunately too tall for me so I'm having to sell them :( Are they made of a stiffer material than your old half chaps?

Er, these ones are actually too short. Apparently they need to be closer to my knee. :3 but they aren't more stiff, however where I have the bruise is right where the seam is and I think that's the part that was pinching my leg :3
