I honestly wouldnt get it wet at all..

If it is filthy attack the worst spots with babywipes, then hang in a steamy room to remove wrinkles.

I handwash a wool huntcoat in cold water & hung it up to dry, no shrinking or wrinkles. I use just regular laundry soap. Don't wring it out though, just hang it up dripping wet.

Would spritzing it with some water from a spray bottle and then sticking it in the dryer on low for a few mins do the trick? I'm not really worried about it shrinking, I just don't want to majorly damage the fabric. I don't plan on selling it, and it was a cheapo one anyway. Plus, ill be purchasing a new one a.s.a.p. I'll let you guys know how it goes if that's what I decide to do lol :P

Wrinkle release spray will be the best.

Also, don't buy a new coat, take the one that is now too big for you to a good tailor and get it fitted. MUCH cheaper than buying a new coat. I just took one of my coats to the tailor, I haven't worn it in almost a year and I put it on the other day and it was huge one me. I didn't think I had lost that much weight haha.
