I wear one when I ride english, but then again, I show all around. I wear my dickie because it is convenient, and faster to get on and off than a button up shirt. When you show all around, you have to be able to change your outfits and tack within a short amount of time. No one can even tell that I wear one, and if jackets are excused, I still keep mine on. I'm not necessarily bothered by the heat in my jacket, so I don't mind.

My cousin wore a bright blue/teal one with rhinestones at the throat. It looked horrible. She kept being thrown around by her horse(her mare has a very, very bouncy trot) and the rhinestones glittered every time she moved and the bright blue did not look good when she had to wear a green coat(her coat somehow got left at home. She didn't even own a normal show shirt. But I have seen riders that you didn't know they were wearing one until they took their coats off. They were white or a very light pastel and looked very nice. Morale of the story: Don't get one in a very bright color with rhinestones.

I recommend having a normal show shirt if you can because then if coats are waived due to heat you can put on the normal shirt and ride without a coat.

Pretty words are not always true and true words are not always pretty.
My treasurers do not twinkle or glitter, they neigh in the night and glow in the sun

That's a good idea! I used to pin mine with earrings to the singlet I wore underneath, but for some reason my stock used to come undone and fly out of my jacket.

I love my dickies. I've made several of my own. I am very busy at horse shows and it's very helpful to have them so I can just slap it on top of my tank top and throw my jacket on and bam, i'm ready to show.

If it is really that hot jackets will be dissmissed. And if they are and you dont have a show shirt on forget about taking the jacket off
