Horse Show Clothing Poll

Hello, I am new today and I was guided to start a new thread, so to get to a higher level I am going to have this poll about show clothing. I have not seen any polls on this site, so I am not sure if it is allowed or not. If it is not allowed or is frowned upon please kindly let me know. Thanks! Hope you enjoy! Feel free to fill out Western or English and if you do both, like me then go ahead and fill out both. :)

For Gaming Riders

What do you wear as a top when you perform (barrel race, pole bending, etc.)? Some people wear Tshirts and others wear plaid riding shirts, some people even wear show shirts when they game.

What do you wear on your legs? Do you ride in a certain brand or style of jean? Or do you wear darkers colored jodspurs when you game? Some people choose to wear chaps. Do you?

What do you wear for socks and boots? Do you wear normal everyday socks or riding socks like zocks and ovation? Do you wear cowboy boots, riding boots, or paddock boots? If so, what brand?

When you game do you wear a helmet or a cowboy hat? If so, what brand do you wear?

For Western people

On your head, depending on your age, what do you wear on your head? Do you still stick with the helmet or leveled up to a cowboy hat?

As a top what do you wear? A show shirt? What does it look like?

As pants do you wear jeans, dress pants, or showmanship pants? What do you use for chaps?

On your feet? What do you wear? Cowboy boots or riding boots?

For the English people

What type of helmet do you use? Depending on your dicipline of course.

What do you wear as a top? Polo or show shirt and jacket? What brands and/or types?

On your legs? Jodspurs? What colors do you prefer?

Western:

On your head, depending on your age, what do you wear on your head? Do you still stick with the helmet or leveled up to a cowboy hat? I wear a cowboy hat, clean and appropriately shaped.

As a top what do you wear? A show shirt? What does it look like? I have a trailer full of clothes. Rail jackets, horsemanship shirts, showmanship jackets, fitted shirts and vests, sometimes I'll wear a denim jacket.

As pants do you wear jeans, dress pants, or showmanship pants? What do you use for chaps? Slacks that match my outfit, always wear chaps for riding classes.

On your feet? What do you wear? Cowboy boots or riding boots? Boots dyed to match my outfit.

English:

What type of helmet do you use? Velvet hunt cap.

What do you wear as a top? Polo or show shirt and jacket? What brands and/or types? Long sleeved show shirt and a show coat. RJ Classics is my go-to brand.

On your legs? Jodspurs? What colors do you prefer? Jodhpurs*. I wear breeches, sand/tan colored.

On your feet? For socks? For boots? Brands and types? I always wear zocks. My hunt boots are Ariats.

This pretty much explains it ALL for barrel racers..I started this thread recently and we've all added to it explaining barrel racing styles and our favorite brands..

Western
Cowboy hat, cattlemen's crease, brand I think is Rossinel, or something like that, sorry, not at home so I can't look.

I wear various brands of rail shirts, all the major brands I have at least one of.

Pants - Hobby horse side zip for the tan outfits, Hobby horse sticky buns for the black based outfits.

Socks - always Zocks, never ride without me Zocks.

Chaps - I have oodles, most are the Hobby Horse ones, smoothies & suede.

Boots - A black & a tan pair of Laredo's, the black pair I've had for 20 + years, still look like new.

English
Helmet - Velvet one, sorry don't know the brand
Hunt coat - Navy blue, think the brand is Cottage Craft?
Breeches are Harry Hall white
Zocks & back zip tall black boots, Dublins.

English:
-Helmets: IRH or Charles Owen. Mine are always completely black.
-Show shirt and coat. I have Devon-Aires for both. Navy coat and white shirt.
-Boots and socks. I have the Ariat Heritage II's. I also wear Ovation Zocks. :)
-Breeches are tan/beige/sand/khaki. I have various different brands for these.

Showing English (eventing and hunters):

-Pytchley show jacket
-Private Edition Gold show shirt
-Devon Aire breeches
-The Boot Company tall boots (they're 25 years old)
-IRH helmet
-Ariat leather gloves
-Nylon socks, much cheaper than Zocks and do the job just as well

Showing Western:

-Tops from Hobby Horse, Rod's, Roughrider, Western Collection Styles, Equestrian, Gray Horse Trading Co. (Jan Lucas Collection), 1849 Authentic Ranchwear, and a few other brands
-Light blue homeade chaps
-Black Hobby Horse chaps
-Sage boots

Gaming tops/flannel show shirts:

-Hobby Horse
-Girl Krazy
-Cruel Girl
-Wrangler
-Hollister
-Rockies
-Polo Jeans Co.

For gaming/speed events I wear my Joe's jeans.

For the English people

I have a long sleeve purple shirt I wore while gaming. It is slightly shimmery but pretty basic

A pair of jeans, hopefully without holes(I learned that one the hard way.) Any jeans that are clean and fit. I'm not picky.

I just wear a pair of normal white socks and my cowboy boots or lace-up ropers. I currently have Ariats and have had Ariats for years in the past.

For 4-H we are required to wear an approved safety helmet. I currently have 3 Troxels.

For Western people

If I'm riding I wear a helmet, but if I'm doing showmanship or halter I wear a hat.

I either wear one of my showshirts(I have 2 a blue and cream one and a purple and creme one) or a simple nice long sleeve collared shirt

I ether were black jeans or with my purple show shirt I will wear the matching showmanship pants.

There's a difference between cowboy boots and riding boots? I just wear either my Ariat fat baby boots or my Ariat ropers. I also think I have some Justin's running around here somewhere.

For the English people(I've ridden and shown English a few times at a couple local shows)

I wore a pair of long beige, off-creme whatever you want to call it pants. They weren't actually breeches or jods. May I suggest if you take this route not duct taping the pants to your ankles before getting on your horse. You could accedently rip them.

Normal socks, and I took the feather/flag leather things off my western ropers and called them lace-up paddock boots.

Just want to point out this isn't a POLL, it's a SURVEY. They're two complete and distinctly different things. I really wish people wouldn't use them interchangeably.
