Also, do you prefer to buy new or used? Does price play a factor into whether you buy new or not?

Most of my Western show shirts have been gifts, but I did buy one last year, for just under $150.00 from Hobby Horse and I know for a fact (as I ordered it), my husband spent $125 as a gift for me for Christmas.

I'm a college student. I buy used and cheap! I got a NICE pair of chaps, black jeans and show top (two actually) for under $80.

Luckily my parents are AWESOME and bought me a brand new pair of show boots (my favorite boots EVER) and a blingy belt :) (I didn't ask prices but I know they paid over $100. If I was buying I would have been much cheaper haha)

It depends. My clothes are custom made; I have a designer I use who is in Florida. Shirts can be anywhere from $100 to $200. My showmanship suits around $300+. It all depends on if I supply the fabric and crystals....which I do very often. And also how fancy I want to go.

My grandmother is a tailor/seamstress and makes my stuff. Though it still isn't cheap depending on fabric. The last jacket cost me about $150 for supplies.

Costs of show clothes can very greatly. From $150-$200 range at Hobby Horse to several thousand for a jacket from Berry Fit. (I'd NEVER spend that kind of money but they are worth checking out just to look, they are stunning!)

I'll buy new, used doesn't matter. I have a lot of my show clothing custom made for a particular show and a specific horse, so that runs into bucks.

I've only ever bought one show shirt new, and it cost me somewhere around $200, I believe, from Hobby Horse. The rest have either been bought cheap from 4-H veterans (I've gotten some very nice things from 4-H shows), or given to me by family in the horse show business.

Like everyone else has said, "it depends." I've spent up to $1500 for a show outfit; pants, chaps, shirt, hat, and saddle pad so I would match, down to $2 at the Thrift Store. In fact I just totally scored at the local Thrift Store. I got 6 mens pearl snap button down shirts, that look like they have never been worn, for $10.
I'll be using these at the little training shows we have around here locally. Especially come summer. I am not putting on polyster or rayon and riding around in 100 degree plus whether. No indoor arena's around here, no they like us bake.
