Hunt Coat

I'm looking for a new hunt coat, but I am 6 foot tall and have VERY long arms! I can not find one that fits me at all, and I don't have enough money to get one custom tailored...

I have my old one, which fits my arms well, but everything else is off. It has huge shoulder pads and goes down to my mid thigh area... So should I just make it shorter? Or should I keep looking for a new hunt coat?

You can get the arms let out a bit. Usually no more then an inch or so though. However it'll be much easier and cheaper then to find a coat with the right arms and then have to tailor everything else. How short is yours?

My friend is very very long and skinny and she has a Grand Prix. They come in "long" sizes and hers fits like a custom. Remember, different brands fit differently! You may need to try a bunch on and see what fits.

I'm about 5'8 with super long arms too! I like RJ Classics because they come in many many sizes for the more "awkwardly proportioned" rider (not saying your awkward or anything!) and come in various sizes! And, they're more friendly on the wallet versus the Merrigolds. Good luck(:
