IRH helmets vs Charles Owen helmets?

Check your rules first, I know for dressage in NA they are not legal unless you're in a CDI.
I have the Spirit, got it on sale for 100 euro in Europe.

I'm probably confused here...but I thought the only Casco that is legal in NA is the Spirit. It is the only one listed on the SEI website as certified. Is there a particular reason why it's not legal even though it's listed as certified by SEI? I'm interested to find out because I was going to order the Spirit for myself but if it can't be used on competitions then it's a bit of a waste of money!!

Oh really? Because it doesn't have the tag, and the company doesn't think its certified haha, I'll have to check that out!

The most competing i'd be doing is local shows so idk that it applies to me - I just want a comfortable and nice looking helmet. I currently have a tipperary sportage that I love but it's 5 years old now and i'm due for a new one.

Interesting!! I would imagine that if it is approved that it would have the tag; I found it on the following: if you go to the Equestrian Helmet section on Safety Equipment Institute, Inc. (SEI) - Certified Products and the click on the Equestrian helmet drop down that pops up, Casco International is the first company that pops up.
I have an inquiry sent to Equine Canada about this so I will report back when I get my answer from them . I have a feeling that the answer will be that they aren't legal...which would be very sad because they are beautiful helmets. Maybe I'll have to save up to get a schooling one

I just checked my Kep which I know is legal, and it does not have a tag.. I also messaged a steward so we will see what the consensus is!

I'm hoping its legal haha I thought it wasn't, it would be awesome to have two snazzy helmets to show in :P

I ride in an IRH Elite and love it. It often gets confused for a GPA Speed. It's just as light and it looks really nice! Can't go wrong with any of the newer IRH stuff. :)

I heard back from the steward to print out from the website that it's certified and to carry that around at shows and I'm good! Yay!

Awesome! That's great to hear. Now I need to scrounge up the money for one...

I have an irh and I love it, I would go irh all the way.
