Blues and greens work well on most horses. (My favorites are turquoise or teal, but that's because my horse is red.) Jewel tones would look good on him, as would colors like lime ice or a pale yellow. He's dark enough that just about any color would look good on him, so go wild. Just make sure the color looks good on you, too. :)

As far as tack goes, that's partly a personal preference thing, partly a style thing. The ultra-light oil tack is going out of style. I like a medium oil for just about everything, because while you might never set a trend in it, you're not going to get outdated next year, either.

I always loved navy blue for my bays. That looks amazing and "sophisticated.." but that was always my opinion.. black was always super nice too. & don't do light oils with dark horses. It clashes terribly. Cute horse, love his coloring. :)

Thanks! :)
I decided to go with baby pink! I put some baby pink polos on him and I just LOVE it! I'm looking around for a baby pink pad, and I think I'm going with a darker-oil saddle because the lighter oil cheapens the pink.

Oh, and I'm also looking for a pink or pink-accented show shirt.
Joy.

Oooh I'm really liking the sound of yellow. Probably more of a pastel so we don't look like a bumblebee :) I think white would break him up too much? Like maybe too much contrast. Like you said though, it'd be a chore!
And a great site of picking colors

My daughter and Sheldon stand out in the show ring in yellow. Just the right amount mind you.

Oh, I love that outfit on that horse! My show horse was red, so my color choices were limited :(

Thank you! She has some brown tones she wears once in a while with brown chaps and hats and turquoise with the black chaps as well. But this is just enough to really catch the judges eye without being overdone!
