Which Spurs?

I'm not sure which Prince of Whales spur to purchase? Mainly, I need to know which is more commonly worn in the hunter ring, and which is most humane.

Ex: regular, 3/4, 1/4? Should it have a pointed, regular, or knob end??

All of the above are fine and very acceptable in the hunter ring. The question is what does your horse goes the best in.

I'm really just looking for something general. I ride many different horses.

I just use regular spurs whenever I am in the hunter ring, jumper ring, dressage ring or eventing. I have never had any issue with them and I have shown gold shows for hunters(compareable to A shows in the US)

I would get whatever you're the most comfortable with then.

Personally I think a bigger spur is easier to use because you can make your aid more subtle but if your leg has the possibility to spur your horse by accident then I'd get something smaller.

I think I have pointed it out before, They gotta jingle ominously when you walk or they don't count.

Thats the western rule lol.

Why on earth do you need spurs? I've never used them
