Synthetic vs genuine leather chaps

Hey there! I'm in the market for a set of full-length training chaps, I was just wondering if anyone has noticed a difference between synthetic and leather ones.
Do either of them bleed onto the saddles, grip difference, quality and durability etc.
I'm looking for a black pair.

I am not one to use synthetic so though I have never tried it I would opt for leather.

I have synthetic half chaps and I love them.

How did you take care of them? Were they easy to wash? I'd imagine the leather ones would need to be dry cleaned...
I opted for the synthetic ones. Hopefully I like them. I had to order them, because the shop here doesn't normally carry chaps - so I wasn't able to compare them in person.
