Tall boots?

I know this thread has probably been beaten to death, and I did do a search but didn't really find anything.

Anyways, I have stupid legs, they're super slim and tall, like twigs. .

I have half chaps right now that come up about 5 inches below my knee and I feel absolutely ridiculous riding in them, so I'm in the market for some tall boots. :)

I tried on some Ariats, the Heritage II I think...and they fit, but they're almost 300$, and with no job it's a bit of a stretch to afford....

Could anyone reccomend some good quality leather tall boots that would fit my stupid legs?

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

I have a pair of Ariat Heritage II zip field tall boots for sale size 10 slim, tall for sale! I really did love them, they were a dream to ride in and get your heels down in but sadly (and happily!) my calf muscle has grown. 190$ pretty firm. Otherwise, I would recommend the ovation GOLD circuit pro field boots, I got them because theyre the tallest boot out there without going custom. Only complain is theyve been terrible to break in (still not all the way broken in for me) and the zipper dosnt go all the way to the bottom so I have to use a shoe horn. They are really hard to find though. Best of luck!

Welcome to my world! I have a size 12 calf and 21 inches tall. The best I could find was the Middleburg Zip Field Boot for I think $200, maybe a tad more or less. They are so comfortable and very pretty with a nice, tall Spanish top. The leather is a little softer, but is a nice quality and keeps its shine. I highly recommend them for the slimmer-legged rider :)

Ariats really hold up well, and their customer service rocks. Scope out ebay and consignment stores. I have a funny leg to fit as well and ended up going the custom route (christmas present from the parents one year).

If you like the Heritage and they fit, keep looking online, and on ebay! I just scored a pair of Ariat Heritage II's, Tall/ Slim for $169! PM me and I'll send you the link to the store that had them.

Ebay

I have found incredible deals on boots. Like a brand new, never worn, in the box pair of Devon Aire dress boots for $10 and a pair of custom made Lopez Taibo (Argentina) field boots for $125. Those were used but in excellent condition and still had the original price sticker of $728 on the sole. A pair of boots like that from Dehner or Vogel will run you close to $900 today.
