troxel sierra and protective vest btw didnt know what topic to put this under!

I was wondering what peoples input on the troxel sierra were like if you have one and you like iy or don't! And also is it a good idea for me to get a protective vest... sounds like a stupid question to me! Like protective vest... probably a good idea but do they work?

Any whoo if you could give me some input that would be great! Haha I like the sierra in pink!

Troxel makes a very good product. I have one or two, and even broke the lining in one, a long time ago, falling off and bonking my head . I sent it in and they replaced the lining.
I use a Tipperary, which fits my more elongated head, troxel's working better for rounder heads. Just make sure it is tight enough that when you lift the visor up and down, your eyebrow are pulled up and down, too.

As for the vest , I know nothing.

My helmet that I have is way too big but its amazing! But it also has a crack in it!
I got it from a friend! Its a Charles Owen John Whitaker edition! And its signed!
But because it dosnt fit properly and its cracked I think its time for a new one!!!

Absolutely! A cracked helmet is worthless. Throw it away so that noone else thinks it's good and puts their life on the line. UNLESS, the lining can be replaced? Talk to the Charles Owens people . They are fantastic helmets and the troxel, while good, is not in the same league.

I absolutely love my Sierra (It's black)!

Between a grumpy, green horse and a ditsy 4yr old (boy, I pick good horses! LOL), I always ride with it on. It's well ventilated, so even in the middle of summer, I am not dying of heat.

My horse dumped me and I hit my head very hard, Troxel replaced my Sierra for a small fee. If you buy it new and send in the reg. Card, they have a replacement program where for a small fee, you get a new helmet if you "use" yours by falling off and hitting your head. Knowing that should I get dumped again, my helmet is new and safe, was worth the small fee.

That's how my helmet got cracked! And I would replace it but I got it used
And you need some number thing to do so which I don't have! Ill probably keep it and put it on display in my room! As for the sierra I think the more I think about it the more I like it!!!
But I'm pretty excited because I just got birthday money!

Any body have any input on sadyet vests?

I like my new IRH ATH helmet. No experience with the Sierra, sorry.

As for the vest, Intec and Tipperary make ones with the foldable padding thing, but they are not certified. I have an Airowear, I bought it for around $250, and it is certified to current safety standards, and very comfy to boot.

Ok great thanks! My local tack shop carries charles owen vests so im going to give them a try!
