Velvet helmet cover question

Ok, I just bought a velvet helmet cover to go over my Aegis helmet. I'm on the dressage team and *might* get to show soon, but I want to wait until I really get into showing to make the show helmet investment. Onto the issue. I put on my velvet helmet cover and it fit fine, but my helmet has one of those little bumps on the top. And the little button on the top of the helmet cover isn't right over top of the "bump" on my helmet, so it looks like my helmet has two "bumps." Should I just cut off the button on the top of the helmet cover?

It's up to you. To my knowledge, you want to look as clean and professional as possible. If that means modifying the helmet cover then so be it. :)

I would, but you should be extremely careful not to nip it so that a hole starts to form!

Don't forget you can always borrow a team members helmet for a show. There are a few people on my IHSA team that borrow a helmet on show day, and quite a few people that borrow coats and shirts as well.
