Western Pleasure Color On A Chestnut?

I have a chestnut mare that I'm going to be showing in western pleasure classes. I just ordered a new show shirt. But I have no clue what color I should get for a saddle blanket liner. Would orange blend with her to much? I would probably get white dirty. I wear black boots, black pants, black hat/helmet. I'm not the biggest fan of black so I don't really want to get a black saddle blanket. But opinions?

What color is the tack? I always like the black/white checkerboard type blankets.

You need a solid color saddle pad for that shirt. And really imo the only options that would look good is orange, black, or white.

I think an orange to match your shirt would be fine or pad with a real subtle black and white pattern.

Hmmmm I'd look for a white saddle blanket.....my reason for this is if you have too much orange and black you may start looking a little 'Halloweeny' (if that's a word!) I'd opt for a white saddle pad and hat, black pants and boots with the orange, black and white shirt. JMO.

Thanks! I'm showing just local shows and at a 4-h Fair. I was just wondering if the orange saddle blanket would blend to much with her because she gets to be the color of a new penny.

I think orange would be ok but I would like black better...

I showed one year with a Hobbyhorse rail shirt very similiar to that one you posted. A black saddle blanket as well as a tan saddle saddle pad looks very nice with it. My horse is a chestnut as well, I show with light oil tack and sand colored chaps.

I'd stay with a black pad which would go very well with your other black accessories. I think it would present a very nice picture. If you opt to wear a western hat, go with white as it brightens your face and it will be summer,

I do not see any problem at all with having a patterned blanket, with that shirt. In fact, in my opinion, it would balance the very busy pattern, especially if you are wearing solid colored jeans, boots and if the tack itself is "quiet". If your tack is busy, then maybe a solid white for a dark colored saddle, black for a light one.
