What Color....

What color of clothing (Head to Toe) would be ok for a local showmanship show, with a dark bay horse?

Do you have any tack, clothing, etc in a special color already? That's always the best place to start because then you don't have to buy a ton of stuff. You can also go to hobbyhorseinc.com and look at their color wheel thing. It's pretty helpful and gives good ideas. Hope that helped :)

I have a black western shirt (with little thin white designs) and my brown ropers! I got the shirt as a gift and haven't used it yet....But I was told black might not be the best color to use with the dark bay horse, so I want to get a few opinions and ideas.

hmmm..
Black pants and boots would be good. You don't want a lot of movement to be seen by the judges, you want them to be focusing on your horse not your legs moving :). A black hat would match then too. The shirt though you could have fun with. For a dark bay maybe red, a lighter blue, or whatever color you usually use! Bright colors would probably work well though :)

and Black does goes VERY nicely with bay horses.

I like cool colors on bays. Bright greens, blues, or even purple look nice on them. Here is a picture of my bay in our blue on XC

Well when you say dark bay.. do you mean almost black like bubbles is? If so then hot pink looks good on them lol. So does deep purple or royal blue. Green looks good on most of them too. Bright colours for a dark horse:) This is bubbles:)

I have 4 bays, all in different shades. Fanta is a cherry bay and she's in purple, Hugo is a pretty traditional bay, he's in navy, Kody is a really rich mahogany bay, he's in deep blood red & Phoenix is a really dark liver bay and he's in hunter green.
