This is my first year showing in about 5/6 years. I will be showing a reg. TB mare named Lizzic (pics coming soon (: ) She is everything I've ever wanted in a horse.
English equitation, pleasure, and comand classes will probably be what we mainly show in. I'm not sure what kind of shows there are exactly. The main association I will be showing with is the MWHA
(www.mwha.com). <- If you would like to see the type of classes they have.
I also plan to show at other local shows and eventually some of the top shows.
No one has ever really explained the "showing scene" to me before. My mom has been riding her whole life and she has always been my coach. She was more 3-Day Eventing, Fox Hunter type. I prefer the show ring and cross country.
I did o.k. When I showed before. Never a first sadly, always a second though.
I am wondering what makes a show an "A" class, or "B" class.
Would you consider the MWHA a schooling show or what exactly?
For these english classes, What tack should I be using. (Obviously english. Ha.) What kind of bit, saddle, ect. Are acceptable?
Are paddock boots and half chaps(the same color) ok? Or tall boots only.
What should I be wearing(what is acceptable?)
Is there a special color of jacket I should be wearing? A certain type of pants? (are they jodphurs(sp?) or breeches?) What type?
I am also thinking about showing her in halter classes. Her sire is Arron's Gold and she looks just like him, not as much muscle but, he is a stud. She has great conformation. Any help on that would be great too.
** No one has ever really explained any of this to me. Any help/advice would be awesome **
I believe I have everything ready to show. (Minus the transportation or get here.)
Any tips/advice you have would be awesome.
Thanks in advice :)
