Where do you buy your Western Show Clothes?!

Just wondering. I've noticed there are som high-end, costly stores, and then there are the less blingy, more reasonably priced stores. Which one do/have you bought from?

I used to use Liz at paintedj.com, she did lots of nice things at reasonable price. I am now using kimberlyskreations.net, as I have known her for a while and she is local to me. It really depends on what you're looking for. You can get a plain button up for $35 or a $5,000 jacket.

Low range- Schneiders, rods, hobby horse.
Mid range- lisa nelle, paintedJ, woods western
High range- kimberlys kreations, showgirls (retailer of Lindsey James, Trudy, etc), Connie's customs, All that show clothing, show me again, showtime.

Yep.. That's just the tip of the iceberg really. Lots of used stuff on tack trader. Tons of stuff on eBay too, majority is lower end but occasionally you can find a great deal on a really nice piece. If you Facebook search show clothing/show apparel you can also find some independent designers in various ranges, as well as used clothing "swap" groups.

Your best bet is to buy used, you will get more for your money. When you are ready to buy start a thread. You never know who on these boards may have something sitting around.

I have bought most stuff off ebay. You get to know the better sellers & you usually find stuff that is more custom fit.I have trouble with the premade /standard sizing stuff from stores fitting{sleeves too short not long enough etc}. Have had good luck & found some good buys

Someone said something about a show shirt costing $1,400! I was blown away. Why so much? What is more typical?

I mean in dressage, a show shirt might be like 50 to 80, a jacket about 200 to a300 midlevel, breeches about 150 to 200, boots around 300? I am sure there are plenty more expensive than that, but I was trying to think of the midlevel of what is listed in Dover magazine.

I'd probably drop $1500 on this shirt for Lils if I go to big breed shows (if I miraculously caught a windfall of money).

Honestly $1500 is pretty mid range. LOL, I love how I'm so desensitized to the prices!

What a $5,000 show shirt looks like:

So what happens to that $5000 shirt when your horse spooks and dumps you in the arena sand? And is it sewed by child labor in China or Bangladesh?

I believe these jackets are made by hand by these very talented seamstresses/artists right here in America...

And trust me, if you can afford a $5k show shirt, your $50,000 horse isn't going to be dumping you any time soon, lol.
